• When scheduling an appointment date for a permanent makeup procedure, keep in mind the healing time of the procedure. You will need a few days afterward without social plans or strenuous activity or time in the sun.  You may have some swelling, oozing or crusting for up to one week.  (Mainly after lip procedures.) 
• Do not wear your good clothes for the procedure because pigment might splatter on them. Pigment washes out of most clothes, but not your favorite ones. Wear something comfortable.
• Please wear your normal make-up to the procedure.  If you are having lips or brows done, please bring your favorite pencils.
• If unwanted hair is normally removed in the area to be treated, i.e. tweezing or waxing, the hair removal should be done at least 48 hours prior to your procedure.  Electrolysis should not be done within seven days of the procedure.  Do not resume any method of hair removal for a week after the procedure.
• Let Deanna know if you want to have an allergy test of pigment before the planned procedure.
• Do not use aspirin or ibuprofen for 7-days prior to your procedure. 
•  Antihistamines like Benadryl taken before the procedure may reduce swelling. Benadryl also helps eyes not be so watery during eyeliner procedures. Watery eyes can dilute the pigment that is being implanted.

For EYELINER:

• If you are having the eyeliner procedure done, please have someone available to drive you home, in case of watering or swelling of your eyes.
• Contact lens should not be worn to, during, or for 24 hours after the procedure. 
• Bring sunglasses to wear home. Eyes may be light sensitive. 
• Do not dye or perm lashes for 2 days prior.  Wait one week after the procedure before dying them. 
• Do not use an eyelash curler the day of the procedure. 
• If you have had any type of eye surgery, consult with the physician about how long you should wait before having a permanent eyeliner procedure. 

• If you have ever had a cold sore, fever blister or mouth ulcer, you will need an antiviral prescription (i.e. Valtrex) from your physician. Most physicians instruct to begin taking it 3 days before the procedure, for a 7-10 day course. 
• If you have had any type of lip surgery, consult with the physician about how long you should wait before having a permanent makeup procedure on the lips.  Permanent makeup artists have noticed poor color retention in lips that have received collagen injections within the previous 6 months, longer for restylane.  It may be best not to have lip filler injections and permanent lip color within the same year.
